Go further in the fight against stroke

The France AVC Endowment Fund was created in 2017, as a continuation of the France AVC association. The France AVC Endowment Fund is authorized to receive tax-deductible donations, as well as legacies, donations and life insurance, completely exempt from payment of inheritance and transfer taxes. The fund’s mission is to contribute to the prevention and treatment of stroke by carrying out information and research support actions.

Although little known and little publicized, stroke is the leading cause of death among women. In fact, nearly one in four women will experience a stroke during their lifetime. Furthermore, stroke affects everyone (elderly people, adults, children, babies). There is a stroke every 4 minutes in France and every 5 seconds worldwide. Stroke is also the leading cause of acquired physical disability in adults.

Encourage and support medical research and innovation

Determined to act in favor of better management of this pathology, the France AVC Endowment Fund supports medical research. Convinced that innovation makes it possible to develop treatments, improve medical techniques and the performance of equipment, the fund supports the Cogniscan project, a portable scanner intended to eventually equip SAMU cars, and to save time valuable in the diagnosis of stroke.

At the same time, the France AVC Endowment Fund supports project leaders relating to new connected medicine technologies dedicated to care and rehabilitation pathways for stroke victims. We will notably cite the ROMAIN initiative of i-AVC, a secure geolocation application, intended for health professionals and dedicated to improving the urgent care of patients suffering from a stroke.

Prevent and support

One of the priorities of the France AVC Endowment Fund is to alert the general public to the need to act quickly. In fact, reducing treatment times helps limit the harmful and lasting effects of stroke. The fund therefore supports initiatives that implement information and prevention actions. In addition to the risk factors to be aware of (arterial hypertension, atrial fibrillation, diabetes, cholesterol, etc.), the fund regularly reminds you of the warning signs to spot, which should immediately lead to calling 15: facial numbness, twisted mouth, weakness or numbness of a limb, difficulty speaking, sudden loss of vision.

In privileged partnership with the French SAMU, the France AVC Endowment Fund finances paper or digital display campaigns within SNCF stations, with the intention of extending these campaigns to pharmacies and medical practices. Currently, the fund is developing national projects aimed at avoiding serious after-effects and supporting patients post-stroke, the details of which will be revealed soon.

To carry out these actions, develop and support ambitious and essential projects in order to effectively fight against the scourge of stroke, the fund needs resources. Support him by sending him your gifts, legacies and donations.
