Excellence in nomadic mode has a name, but also a price

The Rolls of consoles makes little noise.

Asus

Available for a few months, the portable console produced by Asus landed in the editorial office for a test over several weeks. Without going into technical details, the Asus Rog Ally offers the possibility of playing a plethora of online catalogs (Steam, Epic, Xbox for the best known), unlike the competition, such as the Steam Deck or the Switch. The conditions are excellent thanks to its powerful technical components as well as its 7-inch Full HD screen. We easily reach 60 frames per second even on the most recent games. Moreover, we have the choice to adjust the settings game by game to obtain the rendering that suits best.

Although the touchscreen interface is not the most pleasant, you quickly get used to navigating the menus. Concerning ergonomics, in addition to several essential ports for connecting peripherals (a headset for example), it includes buttons A, B, X, Y, a directional cross, analog triggers L and R, navigation buttons, but also an audio system with artificial intelligence noise cancellation technology.

With a respectable size and weight, the Asus Rog Ally can be easily transported in a small bag. The only two big downsides concern the autonomy, which only allows you to play for around two to three hours, and the price, around 800 francs. An amount which is unfortunately not within the reach of all budgets.
