Rudolph “Rudy” Farias IV, from Texas, disappeared in 2015. The then 17-year-old was walking his dogs and never came back. Now, eight years later, he has been found sleeping in front of a church.
According to the family of the long-time missing person, a passer-by called the police. Rudy had numerous cuts and burns and was taken to a hospital. Nothing is known about where he stayed for eight years.
His mother, Janie Santana, told local broadcaster KPRC that her son was identified thanks to a necklace. He has worn these since his brother’s death in 2011.
She suspects that Rudy was abused. “He cannot speak and is unable to communicate with his family,” the family said.
His mother said he was in very poor physical and mental condition. But: “He receives the care he needs to overcome his trauma.”
Janie Santana last saw her son, now 25, on the evening of March 6, 2015. He was walking the family’s two dogs – but they later returned without him. Shortly thereafter, she reported him missing.
Rudy has suffered from depression since his brother’s death. Therefore, the investigators initially did not assume that he was kidnapped. Now the case is likely to be reopened.
