A female student surnamed Chen in Yunnan province in mainland China accused her of being sexually harassed by her class teacher many times during her school days. “Jimu News” reported that Ms. Chen was only 16 years old when she was studying in a vocational school in Yunnan in 2020. Since she was selected as the class monitor by the class teacher Zhao Nan, she frequently sent harassing messages to her, including “I miss you”, “You Your face is on fire, come out and I will go to get rid of the fire for you”, “I told you to come out and make an appointment, or you are afraid that I can’t do it” and other words.
Classmate Chen revealed that Zhao Nan showed an obvious “preference” to himself in front of other students in the class, which led to gradually spreading rumors, calling her a junior, destroying the family of the class tutor, etc. Ms. Chen mentioned that the harassment by the class teacher continued until March 2022. She suffered from depression because she could not bear the harassment and rumor attacks, so she had to suspend school and be hospitalized for treatment. During this period, she even tried to commit suicide by cutting her wrists.
The party complained that she reported Zhao Nan to the school and relevant departments at the end of 2022, but she was not satisfied with the school’s punishment, so she chose to expose him on the Internet. In this regard, the head teacher emphasized that he did not have any physical contact with the students, which does not constitute sexual harassment legally, but he really should not send those messages and is reviewing his behavior. The school responded that Zhao Nan’s teaching activities will be stopped in 2022.
