According to information from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), between this month and the next, the Actopan Hospital, belonging to the IMSS-Bienestar, will be completed.
In this regard, the general director, Zoe Robledo, recalled that IMSS-Bienestar is a public institution of free medical care, with universal coverage that operates in 23 entities with a network of 635 hospitals, 11,913 health centers and 131,000 workers to serve 53.2 million Mexicans, that is, 84.8 percent of those who do not have social security.
He explained that on August 31, 2022, the OPD Health Services of the Mexican Institute of Social Security for Welfare was created by presidential decree and since then a federalization process has been carried out as the first step towards unification and universality.
He highlighted that one of the objectives is to base all workers with a federal IMSS-Wellbeing position; In such a way that in the first stage, 26,004 health workers from the medical, nursing and paramedical areas were hired in 18 states that had temporary positions; and in the case of Hidalgo, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, State of Mexico and Michoacán, there will be 11,259 additional workers.
Meanwhile, he explained that 33 hospitals are in the process of completion, among those that will be delivered during the months of April and May, is the Actopan Hospital.
