Inclusive national dialogue: the agenda of the Coalition for the New Republic (CNR)

In a publication widely shared on social networks, the Coalition for the New Republic (platform created around the candidacy of Jean Ping for the 2016 face-to-face election), lists the subjects worthy of interest in its eyes. Subjects to be included among according to her, among the priorities of the inclusive national dialogue which opens Tuesday April 2.

For Jean Ping and his companions, the sovereignty of these meetings remains a requirement, despite the fact that the CTRI and the transitional authorities have definitively resolved the problem through decree number 0115/PT-PR/MI of March 8, 2024 convening and organizing the said meetings, which affirms the inclusive and non-sovereign character of said dialogue.

Nevertheless, the CNR makes it an essential concern, even a preliminary question, in the same way that it places among the priorities, the in-depth revision of the constitution and the electoral system.

The establishment of a truth-justice-reparation-forgiveness and reconciliation commission, mechanisms to combat enrichment and optimize local governance, as well as the establishment of a committee to monitor the actions of the dialogue, also appear on the CNR agenda.

The Coalition for the New Republic also continues to brood over its anger at the part it considers marginal (one delegate per political party), reserved for political actors in this dialogue. For her, the designation of these delegates (chosen by the CTRI) was made in disregard of the democratic rules governing the functioning of the parties.

The work of the sovereign national dialogue will be held from April 2 to 30, 2024 at the Sino-Gabonese cooperation stadium in Angondje. The opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the Libreville Sports Palace.

A list of 76 participants, solicited for their expertise or experience on the issues addressed in the inclusive national dialogue, completes that of the 542 delegates representing the active forces of the nation and other constituted bodies, was published last Wednesday by decree of the president of the transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma.

The leader of the Coalition for the New Republic, Jean Ping, is on the list of this latest cohort.
