The arrival of tourists to Cancun skyrockets during the long weekend

CANCÚN, QRoo, March 19, 2023.- This long weekend, the Cancun International Airport exceeded 1,200 air operations, exceeding 600 operations per day on average, while hotels reached 90 percent.

On Saturday the terminal reported 659 operations, of which 333 were arrivals (89 national and 244 international), as well as 326 departures (85 national and 241 international).

The international destinations that day were: Amsterdam, Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Bogotá, Boston, Buffalo, Calgary, Cali, Camagüey, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Copenhagen, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Edmonton, Istanbul, Flowers, Fort Lauderdale, Frankfurt, Gothenburg, Guatemala, Halifax, Hamilton, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Havana, Lansing, Lima, Lisbon, London, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Managua, Manchester, Medellín, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Montreal, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Newark, Orlando, Orly, Ottawa, Panama, Paris, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Portland, Quebec, Raleigh – Durham, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco , San José de Costa Rica, Santo Domingo, Saskatoon, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, Washington, Winnipeg and Zurich.

For this Sunday, the number of operations stood at 595, of which 298 were arrivals (93 are national and 205 international), as well as 297 departures (94 national and 203 international).

According to the report of the Hotel Association, the highest occupancy point was reported on Saturday, March 18, with up to 90.8 percent in Cancun, which exceeded the forecast of a maximum occupancy of 85 percent.
