The Asociación Amateur Marplatense de Hockey (AAMH) regular season reaches a decisive crescendo this weekend across multiple divisions, as clubs fight for critical playoff seeding before postseason brackets lock in November, La Capital MDP reported.
Nivel 1/A Showdowns and Direct Quarterfinal Stakes
The 14th and final round of the regular season in Nivel 1/A features a heavy Saturday schedule on October 10. Trinity hosts IAE Club at 17:00, while Mar del Plata Club squares off against Banco Provincia at Universitario simultaneously. Later in the evening at 18:00, Sporting welcomes IDRA to Villa Marista, and Universitario battles Once Unidos at Santa Celina starting at 18:30.
Securing a top-four finish in this tier is vital. The clubs finishing in the top four advance directly to the quarterfinals of the Torneo Nivelación. Meanwhile, sides finishing from fifth through eighth place must play through a grueling path in the octavos de final against top performers from Nivel 2/AB.
Lower Tier Matches Continue Through October 10
The Nivel 2/A-B tier also closes its 14th regular-season round on Saturday, October 10. Necochea’s Del Valle plays Talleres away in Necochea at 17:00, and Polideportivo Villa Gesell hosts Mar del Plata Club “B” at the same hour. Biguá meets Unión del Sur at home at 18:00, while Náutico faces Campo de Pato from Balcarce at CMH 1 at 18:30.
In Nivel 3/B action, Libertad faces MDQ 06 on Friday, October 9, at 19:00 at the Estadio Panamericano de Hockey (EPH), followed by Banco Provincia “B” taking on Sporting “B” on Saturday at 17:00. The structure dictates that the fifth-place finisher in Nivel 2/AB moves directly to the Reubicación quarterfinals, while the sixth through eighth-place teams fight through the octavos against Nivel 3/B squads.
