Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was killed. He was shot during a cheering speech in Nara City, which he visited during the Upper House election, which was voted on the 10th.

Around 11:30 am on the 8th, two days before the voting day, it was just after the speech was started on the stand at the rotary in front of Kintetsu Yamato-Saidaiji Station. The first shot was fired from behind with a roaring sound, and the second shot was fired when looking back. Former Prime Minister Abe crouched down from the table and collapsed on the spot, and was taken to Nara Medical University Hospital in an ambulance state with cardiopulmonary arrest, but his death was confirmed at 5:03 pm.

Tetsuya Yamagami (41), who was attacked with a handmade gun, was arrested on the spot and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. During the election period, which directly reflects the will of the people, Japan attacked an unprotected benshi in front of the audience, and was touted as “Abe Ichigo”, killing the politician who had the longest administration in the history of constitutionalism. A shock ran inside. People who say “I hate Abe” wouldn’t have wanted this.

Selfish misconduct by “personal grudge” instead of “political terrorism”

However, Yamagami, who was arrested, said in an interrogation that “it is not a grudge against Mr. Abe’s political beliefs.” On the contrary, he said, “My mother was absorbed in a religious group and donated money to make her life harder.” Mr. Abe is said to have made a statement to the effect that he attacked because he thought he had a connection with the religious group.

If so, this case is not so much a “political terrorism” as a “selfish” case of the suspect. Attack the other party with personal theory and heart. It is close to the so-called street demon and indiscriminate murder.

However, from my point of view, when I was observing the Upper House election, I can’t help but feel that this case is a metaphor of the current state of the world, which is an extreme reflection of the characteristics of this election. I want to reveal the situation.
