The women’s final of the speed skating team pursuit modality was also held, in which Canada beat Japan, champion in Pyeongchang. The squad made up of Ivanie Blondin, Valerie Maltais, Alexa Scott and Isabelle Weidemann has broken the Olympic record for the event, with a time of 2:53.43. The Netherlands has completed the podium.

In addition, there were medals in the men’s 4 x 7.5km biathlon relay modality, in bobsleigh, in the women’s freestyle skiing slopestyle event —in the men’s qualifying rounds they were eliminated the Spanish Javier Lliso and Thibault Magnin—, in Nordic cross-country combined, in snowbard big air and in men’s speed skating pursuit. There was also competition in ice hockey, figure skating and curling.
The 24th edition of the Winter Games, which lasts 17 days, has 109 tests in 15 different disciplines distributed in three venues: the capital itself, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou, 80 and 180 kilometers from Beijing, respectively. The closing ceremony will be on February 20.
