A foreign woman who abandoned her newborn baby in a cold wave that fell below freezing admitted to the crime during a police investigation.
According to the Jeonju Deokjin Police Station in Jeonbuk on the 21st, A, a woman in her 20s with Vietnamese nationality, stated in a police investigation, “It was because I did not have the ability to raise a child.”
However, it was reported that the child’s father was not specifically mentioned.
As a result of the investigation, Mr. A entered Korea as an exchange student, and the police assume that the father of the child is also a student of the same nationality as Mr. A.
The police will continue their investigation into the circumstances of the crime through an interpreter.
Previously, Mr. A was accused of abandoning a newborn baby in front of a restaurant in Jeonmi-dong, Deokjin-gu, Jeonju at 8:10 pm on the 19th.
The owner of the restaurant immediately reported it to the police when he heard a child cry outside, and it is known that the newborn was wrapped in a blanket at the time of discovery.
The temperature in Jeonju that day was minus 1.8 degrees Celsius, but the child has no major health problems.
The police analyzed the CCTV near the restaurant and arrested Mr. A at around 6:00 pm on the same day.
