This Tuesday night it was confirmed the death of second sergeant Carlos Retamal Jaque, who was attacked with an iron blow to the face during a procedure for a clandestine race over the weekend in San AntonioVaparaiso Region.
The death was reported in the first instance by the Maulino Linares Fire Departmentwhere the uniformed man had direct relatives, and later ratified by Carabinieri.
The policeman had been seriously injured after on Sunday, when he was part of the staff that went to the Malvilla sector of San Antonio to deal with a complaint for underground racing.
After being attacked, he was urgently transferred to the Metropolitan Region, to the Dipreca Hospital in Las Condes, where he remained in “extreme gravity”, struggling between life and death as a result of a “very complex brain injury” and a “very serious neurological condition”.

Los funerals of the second sergeant will be held in Melipillain the Metropolitan Region, a commune where He was a firefighter volunteer..
“These are moments of pain for all of us who knew him in life, so we send all our strength to his family, colleagues and friends, raising a prayer for his eternal rest and at the same time, demanding justice, so that events like what happened to our comrade, do not happen again,” said the Melipillano Fire Department.
The mayor of Linares, Mario Meza, expressed his condolences to whoever was “a great friend of life, from Linares and a public figure” from the city.

It is also the second martyr that Carabineros mourns this Tuesday, after the First Corporal Gastón Hermosilla Sáez died earlier after the overturning of an armored police vehicle in the commune of CañeteBio bio region.
