The spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General, Anna Adamiak, confirmed that officers of the Central Anticorruption Bureau detained three people belonging to the authorities of Collegium Humanum: the chancellor, the bursar and the vice-rector for postgraduate education. The media found out that other people associated with the university are also being interrogated by the CBA. The first information about the investigation into this case has already appeared.

The CBA detained the authorities of Collegium Humanum. “Investigation of the organized crime and corruption division”
The authorities of Collegium Humanum were detained on Wednesday, February 21. Portal tvn24.pl determinedthat agents of the Central Anticorruption Bureau detained six people. On the other hand “Newsweek” reportedthat the CBA is interrogating, among others, the university’s rector, Paweł Czarnecki. The prosecutor’s office has not yet confirmed these reports.
The tvn24.pl interlocutor stated that the detention of the university authorities is a consequence of “a serious investigation that has been supervised by the Silesian organized crime and corruption department for months.” – Probably all existing secret services were involved in various aspects of the case – said the portal’s informant.

Collegium Humanum was established in 2018 in Warsaw, as we wrote about on Gazeta.pl. Newsweek’s findings show that the university allowed many people associated with Law and Justice to obtain the diploma needed to obtain jobs in State Treasury companies.
Collegium Humanum graduates include influential politicians and businessmen, including: social advisers to President Andrzej Duda, Marcin Drewa and Piotr Karczewski, and the brother of the former president of Orlen Daniel Obajtek, Bartłomiej Obajtek, who served as director of the Regional Directorate State Forests in Gdansk. Andrzej Duda’s uncle, Antoni Duda, who was a member of the supervisory board of PKP Cargo, was also supposed to graduate from Collegium Humanum.
