A few days ago, the beating of a 14-year-old girl in Patras was recorded. Another beating in Thessaloniki a month ago. Even in the courtyard of a school in Peristeri.
The shocking thing about this new incident of violence is the fact that the protagonists this time are not high school students but second grade students.
The Chronicles
It is Saturday afternoon in the area of Patras. A group of elementary school students are playing in the street.
At an unsuspecting time, the 7-year-old, who has his own mobile phone, gives it to another child and tells him meaningfully “Start taking videos”. And suddenly he starts punching and kicking his 8-year-old friend.
The little boy was screaming, but he couldn’t do anything as there were two others in the group. The act is completed. The 8-year-old is writhing in pain and the 7-year-old uploads the video to TikTok. The little boy goes home crying, describes to his mother what happened and she actually sees the video of her child being beaten on TikTok.
The child’s mother won’t let it go. He meets the father of the juvenile abuser. The 7-year-old admitted the incident and tearfully apologized for his act.
“I saw him with a swollen eye”
The uncle of the boy who was beaten spoke to the “Gnomi” newspaper, stressing that violence and criminality have now taken root even in the younger elementary school classes.
“I think that something like this should be heard so that some people who seem not to be involved properly, even if they are parents, get the message. My nephew had a blackened and swollen eye.”
The father of the 7-year-old cited various problems that his son is facing, emphasizing that he is also doing lessons at home.
The victim’s mother, on the other hand, is considering filing a lawsuit, expressing the fear that there may be a similar incident in the future.

The 9-year-old’s mother speaks to LIVE NEWS.
“My child was playing and when I saw him he was crying, he had a mark on his face and he told me that a child also hit him. We went to the home of the kid who hit him to let them know. The father was trying to tell me that it was a child fight and that his child was in trouble. Two days later I received a video of the beating on my cell phone. The 7-year-old had uploaded it. When I saw it I went home again. The father knew nothing. Called the child agitated. The father apologized to me, not the child. I said I would take legal action. When I went to the kid’s house, we had him take it down. Now if it’s on his cell phone, I don’t know. Out of my agitation I deleted it too. I will take legal action but I want to say that we must be above our children and protect them. His classmates didn’t say anything to him.”
