After the uproar caused by a video in which he appeared dancing and singing to the tune of a song by Umm Kulthum, the famous Egyptian reciter Mamdouh Amer revealed the details of the incident.
He told Al-Arabiya.net that the incident is true and the video is indeed true, and what happened was that he was as he was at his brother’s wedding in his hometown in his village in Buhaira Governorate, adding that the wedding was the first joy for the family and for him personally after the death of his father, and he had insistence on Exporting joy and happiness to the rest of the family.
And he continued that he had already danced and sang at the ceremony with his friends, relatives and invitees, stressing that he had not made a mistake, and dealt as everyone deals in such occasions.
Amer indicated that the ceremony was family, and all relatives and a number of friends, including Quran reciters, participated in it.
And the pioneers of the communication sites had circulated a video of the famous reciter exchanging dance and songs on a song by Umm Kulthum in a popular concert, which sparked widespread anger and criticism of the reciter’s lack of respect for his status and the status of the Holy Quran.
Denial of the incident
For its part, the Syndicate of Memorizers and Readers of the Holy Qur’an announced its denunciation of the video, and made it clear in a statement yesterday, Saturday, that it was better for him to respect the Holy Qur’an with which he coexists and who made a name for him among the people, but he did not do that, but rather fell to a low level that is not appropriate for the people of the Qur’an. .
An official in the syndicate revealed that the Readers Syndicate is currently examining the video and knowing its circumstances in order to take a decision regarding it, indicating that the reciter is not a member of the Syndicate, but the Board of Directors has the right to take disciplinary decisions against him.
It is noteworthy that months ago, in a similar incident, and following a wave of anger on social media in Egypt, the Holy Qur’an Readers Syndicate decided to suspend a famous reciter after circulating a video of him dancing while reciting the Qur’an.
