A settlement map from Rafah to the northern Gaza Strip, speeches by government ministers and chants of “Tersenfar” and “Death to terrorists”: the right-wing “Conference for the Victory of Israel” was held this evening (Sunday) at the Nation Buildings in Jerusalem with the participation of ministers, members of the Knesset and a large crowd under the title: “Only settlement brings Security – returning to the Gaza Strip and Northern Samaria”, in a call to settle in the Gaza Strip and Northern Samaria. The Samaria Council, the Nachala movement and other bodies initiated the right-wing conference for the return to settlement in the Gaza Strip.
The plan that was presented this evening included a number of settlement nuclei within the Gaza Strip: the Yeshi settlement nucleus “is supposed to be built on the outskirts of the town that destroyed Beit Hanon”, the “Maoz” nucleus on the southern coast of Gaza, the “Gaza Gate Gates” nucleus in Khan Yunis and a designated ultra-orthodox settlement nucleus called “Chesd for the Thousand” “South of Rafah.

During the National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gabir’s remarks, a number of protesters held up a sign calling for the transfer of Gaza residents. The minister replied to them: “Encourage them to leave voluntarily. The mistake in the conception cost us rape, murder and looting. Part of correcting the mistake of the conception is to return home to Gush Katif. We need to return home because this is the Torah, this is historical justice and that is what is right. Today everyone understands that escape brings war . We need to return home and control the territory. Also offer immigration encouragement and a death penalty law for terrorists. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich took the stage right after Minister Ben Gvir and said: “The strength and determination of the home front are the key to victory in the war.” The nation of Israel is at an important crossroads. We must decide whether we run away from terrorism or learn the lesson and settle the land and its length and breadth. Without settlement there is no security. We shouted then: ‘Don’t give them guns’ and they didn’t listen to us. We knew what it would lead to and tried to prevent it. Unfortunately we received a painful blow, but we are getting up. We have a nation of lions. Many of the children who were evacuated from Gush Katif returned to it as fighters. We must see to it that they return as settlers. With eternity, with God’s help, he will win.’
Minister of Tourism Haim Katz represented the Likud party on stage and said: “I am the son of parents who survived Auschwitz and made a decision to immigrate to Israel and build the country. I belonged to a group called the rebels and fought against the deportation from Gush Katif. Today we have the opportunity to stand up and build and renew and expand the Land of Israel. In spirit and faith we will do it. For us it’s a final game, no replay, no improvement allotment. Now together we will do and win.’ At the end of Minister Haim Katz’s speech, the rabbis, members of the Knesset and ministers came to the stage to sign the “Treaty of Victory and Renewal of Settlement in the Gaza Strip and Northern Samaria”.

During the conference, the settlement map was presented to the Minister of Housing and Construction Yitzhak Goldknopf: “The entire Land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel. Everyone sees how the security situation has worsened since the deportation. Today it is clear to everyone that this was a serious mistake. Giving up on Israel’s territories directly results in the bloodshed of Jews. I will support correcting the terrible injustice and returning to Gush Katif and the Gaza Strip. This will burn consciousness among the enemy. There is no doubt that the renewal of the Jewish settlement will correct a historical injustice. If the Israeli government makes such a decision, I will act as the Minister of Housing to implement the decision and renew our days as soon as possible.”
The conference was opened by the head of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan, who said before the opening of the conference: “Everyone understands, only settlement will bring security.” Chairman of the Nachala movement Daniela Weiss: “The only real victory of this war will be to return to the land of our ancestors.”

The only real victory of this war will be to return to the ropes of the land of our ancestors. In the city of Gaza there was a Jewish settlement throughout most of the years of history from the Exodus to the present day. We need to understand that this is in our hands, and not submit to dictates and pressures.”

The one who came out against the conference was opposition leader Yair Lapid who wrote: “The most harmful government in the history of the country is reaching a new low tonight. The settlement conference in Gaza of the “Otzma Yehudit” party, with many ministers from the Likud party, is a disgrace to Netanyahu and to a party that was once at the center of the national camp and is now trailing helplessly behind the extremists. This is international damage, damage to a possible deal, it endangers IDF soldiers, it is a terrible irresponsibility. Netanyahu is not qualified, this government is not qualified.”
