Al-Marsad newspaper: US President Joe Biden commented on the decision to extend the armistice between the two sides of the conflict in Yemen, which was mediated by the United Nations.
“Saudi Arabia has shown courageous leadership by ratifying and implementing the provisions,” the US president said.
Biden continued, “The past two months in Yemen were among the most peaceful periods since the war began seven years ago, thanks to the armistice concluded in April.”
He continued, “Oman, Egypt and Jordan played a role that made the armistice process possible, and America will remain involved in this process over the coming weeks and months, and will focus on deterring threats from friends and partners.”
It is worth noting that the UN Special Envoy for Yemen announced today, Thursday, the agreement to extend the current armistice for two months, expressing his thanks for the support of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman and members of the UN Security Council.
