Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen said on the 13th, “The Taiwan Strait is not a cross-strait issue, as traditionally referred to, but a global agenda and a very important agenda for regional security and global economic supply chain safety.”

According to Taiwan’s Central News Agency, President Tsai answered, “War is not an option” to the question, “If China attacks Taiwan, will Taiwan have the ability to defend it?”

President Tsai said, “It is the consensus of the international community that the Taiwan Strait issue must be resolved peacefully.

China, which regards Taiwan as part of its territory, has strongly opposed this perception, saying that the Taiwan issue is entirely China’s internal affair.
