After several reports and versions, the president Javier Miley made official with a decree this Friday the call for extraordinary sessions of Congress from December 26 to January 31, to discuss the anticipated “omnibus” project, which contains several tax, administrative and electoral reforms.

This is the third round of measuresafter the emergency economic program announced by Minister Luis Caputo and the DNU that was published on Wednesday in the Official Gazette, after a national channel from the president.

From the Casa Rosada they had reported earlier today that the reforms, which include the reversal of Profits and the elimination of the PASO, among others, would be sent in a single document. The opposition, on the contrary, had requested that they be presented in several packages.

After the runoff, Milei had implied in statements to the media that he would call extraordinary elections as soon as he took office, on December 11 or 12, what finally came to fruition this Fridayalmost two weeks later.

In anticipation of this Friday’s call, the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, met yesterday Thursday with the legislators who respond to Milei in Congress. The conclave was attended by the vice president Victoria Villarruel and the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Martin Menem.
