George Blanas was born in 1959 in Aegaleo. He had studied librarianship.
The 2015, received, as literature.gr writes, the state award for translation of foreign literature for the translation of the work “Life and Destiny” by Vasili Grossman, while earlier he was honored with the prize of the “Diavazo” magazine for his poetry collection “Stassiotis [1-50]” as well as with the praise “Karolos Koun” for the translation of the tragedy of Euripides “Heracles the Raging”.
Translations of it have been used in tragedies in the ancient theater of Epidaurus and in the Conservatory of Herod of Atticus.
