The “Health of Representatives” approves the budgets of mental health, the treatment institution, and medical centers

The Health Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, headed by Dr. Ashraf Hatem, discussed, during its meeting this evening, Sunday, a legal draft linking the state’s general budget and the economic and social development plan for the fiscal year 2022/2023, with regard to the mental health sectors, the treatment institution, specialized medical centers, and service development centers Blood banks, and approved.

Representatives of the Ministry of Health demanded an increase of 35 million pounds for blood banks in Chapter One, wages and workers’ compensation, while the representative of the Mental Health Secretariat confirmed their approval of the draft budget as it is.

While Hala Awad, director of the budget sector at the medical institution, said that they have no demands regarding the budget, follow-up: “We are an economic body that is self-financed, and what is allocated and resources are spent on the body, and there is agreement with the Ministry of Finance.”

The total allocated to blood bank services development centers in the draft budget for the fiscal year 2022/2023 amounted to 422 million and 630 thousand pounds, of which 219 million and 453 thousand pounds were for wages and workers’ compensation.

While the total project budget of the medical institution amounted to 812 million and 913 thousand pounds, of which 5 million and 807 thousand are for wages, and the total estimated expenses amounted to 632 million and 747 thousand pounds.
