The pilot was probably scared of his life. On Wednesday afternoon, a helicopter carried out an equipment recovery mission on the Vieille lighthouse, in Finistère. On images captured by a webcam fixed on the Pointe du Raz, we see the device suddenly nose down towards the rocks.

The pilot manages in extremis to raise the helicopter and regain altitude. If this one is unscathed, the accident all the same made an injured person at the top of the lighthouse who was hospitalized.

Interviewed by France 3 Bretagne, Florian Quiguer, CGT delegate of the Lighthouse and Beacon workers, said: “(My injured colleague) was very scared. He explained to me that the accident occurred when the helicopter was removing one of the lighthouse lantern pane frames. He was on the walkway. The helicopter lifted the load vertically, was thrown off balance and the pilot lost control. The load pinned my colleague against the wall and it was because of this that he was injured. »

An investigation is opened to determine the causes of the accident.
