He is now second only to Titanic ($2.194 billion), Avengers : Endgame ($2.799 billion) and Avatar ($2.923 billion). Which means that in the top 4 blockbusters having accumulated the biggest mountains of greenbacks, James Cameron has made three. Only the brothers Anthony and Joe Russo prevent him from occupying the entire podium on his own.
A mind-blowing feat, which guarantees him the release of the next three sequels (the third part is already entirely shot, as well as part of the fourth) but, on the other hand, will put them under crazy pressure at the entry level. Doing better will be particularly difficult, but he will be forced to do so, on pain of hearing regarding weariness or questioning of the last two parts.
The future therefore looks blue for James Cameron, but not necessarily pink in terms of stress.
