Charlotte Flair takes time out

Ex-SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair needs a WWE break.

How “PWInsiderThe 37-year-old informed her employer over the weekend that she wanted to take a break after WrestleMania.

During the week, Flair and her husband Andrade El Idolo (still under contract with AEW) shared vacation photos from Hawaii.

Flair was already missing between May and December last year. It is still unclear whether the daughter of “Nature Boy” Ric Flair will only be away for a short time this time or is planning a longer break from wrestling.

Question mark behind Bayley

Bayley has sparked a lot of discussion on social media platforms throughout the week. The trigger was a tweet after the 6-woman tag team match on WrestleMania Saturday.

Bayley wrote: “And sometimes even the most romantic love story comes to an end. Bye.”

Dakota Kai responded with a tweet of her own: “Love you Bayley.”

Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai appeared without Bayley on Monday’s Raw, losing to Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan in a Tag Team Title Contender match.

Fans promptly suspected Bayley wanted out of WWE. But the tweets could rather refer to the future of the group Damage CTRL, which could be history in this form.

The coming days will bring more clarity on this matter.

Shane McMahon is recovering

Shane McMahon certainly imagined his WrestleMania weekend differently. In his surprise match against The Miz, the 53-year-old landed unluckily on a leapfrog and tore the quadriceps muscle in his left thigh.

McMahon traveled from Los Angeles to Birmingham (Alabama) on Monday, where his leg was treated at the clinic of sports medicine specialist Dr. James Andrews was whipped into shape.

Shane is now back home – and it will probably be a while before “Here Comes The Money…” blares out of the loudspeakers of a WWE show again.

Chelsea Green in the hospital

WrestleMania week also ended badly for Chelsea Green. On Thursday, the 32-year-old sent a tweet from a hospital. The diagnosis: a severe stomach upset and a bloated gallbladder.

Green joked on Twitter: “I thought I celebrated my first WrestleMania too hard.” Unlike WWE Manager Adam Pearce, she couldn’t get upset about the person in charge in the emergency room: “I will not be filing a complaint this weekend !“

Get well soon!

Death overshadows Bianca Belair’s WWE performance

A group of dancing girls supported women’s champion Bianca Belair’s entry into WrestleMania. What hardly anyone knew: the youngest on stage had lost her mom the morning before the big moment. This was particularly close to WWE Creative Director Paul Levesque.

Triple H speaking on WWE SmackDown

WWE SmackDown hails from Portland, Oregon today. After WWE left DAZN, this episode will no longer be broadcast live in Germany, but will be broadcast on ProSieben MAXX on Saturday evening.

It is highly anticipated that Vince McMahon will travel to Portland, far from the east coast, to once again exert creative influence on the show. Of course, the WWE CEO can do that from his office in Connecticut, too. However, his personal presence would send a clearer signal.

Interesting in this context: Triple H will make an appearance on SmackDown. The reason for this is unclear. Will Levesque respond to the intense social media criticism and Vince discussions surrounding last Monday’s Raw episode? Does he just want to do another acceptance speech similar to what he did at the beginning of Raw? Or did the WWE CCO announce something else entirely?

Also on SmackDown, Rhea Ripley appears as the new Women’s Champion. The Brawling Brutes take on Imperium in a 6-man tag team match. Also, Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar team up in a tag team match against Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest.
