This morning (Tuesday), the work of the Third Conference on Mental Health in the Military Environment in Taif, organized by the General Administration of Health Services at the Ministry of Defense represented by the Department of Armed Forces Hospitals in the Taif region and the supervision of the Armed Forces Center for Psychological Care, was launched in the presence of the Commander of the Taif Military Region, Major General Dr. Muhammad bin Mushabab Al-Qahtani. .

The conference aims to provide psychological support to the heroes of the armed forces for their participation in defending the security of the homeland and its sanctities and the psychological effects of the Corona pandemic, with the participation of a number of military and civilian leaders in the Ministry of Defense and senior specialists in psychiatry and mental health to shed light on (mental disorders during the Corona pandemic, Addiction disorders, psychological measures and tests, psychological and social support for the military and their families), and the latest developments in this field were discussed.

The conference sessions included the challenges faced by the therapeutic team in treating military addiction patients, presented by Dr. Faiq Al-Zaghari, the mechanism of work of the Higher Military Medical Committee, psychological cases, presented by Dr. Fahd Al-Yahya, the session chair, Dr. Talal Mahfouz, and a psychological rehabilitation session after returning from the battlefield, presented by Dr. Mishaal Al-Aqeel, And depression after retirement from military service by Dr. Youssef Al-Shehri, and the impact of psychological warfare on the mental health of Dr. Sultan Al-Subaie and the session chair, Dr. Abdul Hamid Al-Khatib.

At the conclusion of the first day, a workshop on cognitive-behavioral therapy for social phobia was conducted by Dr. Ahmed Al-Saleh, and a workshop for the Matrix program by Dr. Khaled Al-Awfi.

It is worth noting that this conference will last for 3 days, with 20 hours of continuous medical training approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
