directed Egyptian Medicines Authority In cooperation with the supply investigations and the concerned authorities, a severe blow to drug fraud gangs, as the inspectors of the authority in Qalyubia and the Central Operations Administration succeeded in controlling the focus of the fraud of the manufacture of antibiotic preparations (Unictam injection), and those responsible for it were arrested.
The Egyptian Medicines Authority had taken all necessary measures to apprehend the accused, by intensifying efforts in all governorates, to seize the fraudulent preparation, and to know those responsible for that matter, until the location of the fraudster was monitored, in cooperation with the Supply Investigations, by tracing all supply leads and through Investigations of the relevant devices.
The beginning was information about some individuals filling syringes with an unknown substance in a primitive way in a residential place that works undercover late at night. The place was raided at dawn today, in cooperation and coordination with the Supply Investigations, and in the presence of the Public Prosecution officers.
The campaign was able to seize huge quantities of packaging materials, pamphlets and materials used in fraudulent manufacturing, which were to be sold in the markets, and whose examination proved to be in violation of all drug manufacturing regulations, with a significant impact on harming the health and life of citizens.
This comes in light of the importance of tightening control over the Egyptian drug market and monitoring all violations, as well as within the authority’s action plan to strike with an iron fist anyone who tempts himself to tamper with the health and lives of citizens.
