The “Mental Health” conference presents methods for recovering from crises

The Capacity Development Center for the Rehabilitation of People of Determination organized the second mental health conference in conjunction with the World Mental Health Day, under the patronage of Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Honorary President of the Center.
Sheikh Tahnoun bin Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan attended the opening of the conference at Al Ain University, Abu Dhabi branch, through which the Capacity Development Center participates with the efforts of the state, to achieve the integrated development of society and its institutions. Samira Salem, director and founder of the Capacity Development Center for the Rehabilitation of People of Determination, confirmed that mental health is an integral part of public health, praising the wonderful role played by the UAE, where the state focused on building human beings in an integrated manner, a healthy body, mind and soul together.
She explained that there is no physical health without mental health. The mental health of the individual is a state of psychological well-being. The individual can be an active, productive and reconciled member with himself and others.
Dr. Muhammad Fouda, a Ph.D. of Psychology and a Psychoanalytic Specialist at the Center, participated in the conference, in which he addressed the concept of mental health and its manifestations, as well as psychological trauma and its various stages.
Fouda explained the manifestations of mental health, starting with emotional balance, motivation, whether organic, emotional or values, and mental superiority – social relations. All this indicates a balanced mental health.
Dr. Fouda referred to the psychological state of the families of people of determination, how to deal with the psychological crises they face and the intense psychological support to overcome the crisis, pointing out that will, work, hope and perseverance play a major role in a balanced mental health.
Dr. Aram Hassan, a consultant psychiatrist at Al Reem Hospital stressed the importance of mental health on the daily life of a person, and this includes social relationships and physical health, where mental health affects physical health. Physical health also affects the psychological state.
He pointed out that a balanced diet promotes the body to secrete the hormone of happiness, and sports contribute significantly to the secretion of endorphins and serotonin during training to achieve positive happiness, adequate sleep, normal social relationships, reduce caffeine consumption, and give up alcohol.
Sarah Al-Safadi, a psychologist at Al Reem Hospital, said: “Our mental health begins with the ability to face the difficulties surrounding a person, and a positive sense of activity, strength and vitality, and its role in the happiness of the individual and society and increase productivity.”
She emphasized that in order for a person to be psychologically sound, all these aspects of his personality (physical, mental, social, and emotional) must be integrated.
Amal Hassan “Life Coach” indicated that psychological trauma arises as a result of a person’s exposure to a very bad situation, and this may appear after exposure to accidents, separation from others, or the death of a loved one, and other things that lead to a feeling of extreme sadness, and is often reflected Extreme sadness over people’s behavior and this may make them cry or get angry, despite the varying repercussions and results of sad psychological trauma on people’s psyche.
