MEXICO CITY (El Universal).— The president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo), of the Chamber of Deputies, Jorge Romero, stated that allowing organized crime to affect the electoral process carried out in the country , would be equivalent to losing the Mexican State.

At the end of the working meeting of the Special Working Group to Monitor Electoral Processes, it did not give details of the agreements or proposals that they will propose to guarantee the safety of the candidates participating in the electoral process. And he said they will be announced today in a statement.

“All political forces are aware of the risk that exists in which organized crime, increasingly, wants to influence all states, regardless of color, as a phenomenon throughout the country, and that we are not going to allow, because “That would be equivalent to losing the Mexican State,” he expressed.

He said that the proposals that the special group will present will involve various agencies, with which they will also seek to meet.

“There are many issues that we have discussed, which will be translated into the meeting with many more authorities that exist. “We are aware of the scope of this group that belongs to the Legislative Branch, and it is not a minor scope, but it is necessarily a scope that expands with the participation of other authorities,” he said.

For his part, Ignacio Mier, coordinator of Morena, pointed out that the priority is to guarantee the safety of the candidates and that voters can exercise their right to vote without pressure.

“We must contribute, as one of the Powers of the Mexican State, so that the electoral process is developed with the greatest tranquility, and that Mexican men and women can freely exercise which of the options presented for the different positions, which is with which they sympathize and democracy can be strengthened with it,” he said.

We lost our peace

On the other hand, the Citizen Movement candidate for head of government, Salomón Chertorivski, assured that “we have lost peace in CDMX and in the country,” given the murders of candidates in recent days.

“What is happening is a disgrace, peace in our country and in the streets of Mexico City is lost, when you cannot go out freely into the streets, when you do not feel safe that your sons and daughters are in the street, everything else becomes complicated,” commented Chertorivski at the end of his visit to the flea market in the Cuajimalpa mayor’s office.

He described recent events as a disgrace.

“The country is experiencing a very complex moment, if we do not take charge and understand that a new security and justice system is necessary, we are simply not going to get it out, immediately we need a new well-structured criminal policy and a profound reform to the Judiciary of the city and especially the Prosecutor’s Office.”
