The Municipality of Baghdad announces its control over the drainage of rainwater

The Baghdad Municipality announced, on Wednesday, its control over the drainage of rainwater within the capital’s regions.

A statement of the Municipality stated that “the Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Musa Kazim, and the advanced staff of the Municipality of Baghdad, supervised in the field the implementation of the emergency plan to drain the rainwater, which was launched since yesterday throughout the city of Baghdad.”

He added, “The rain plan entered into force since yesterday, and included mobilizing mechanical and human effort, and preparing sewage and rain stations, and emergency lines and stations.”

He pointed out that “the amounts of rain have receded in all streets and residential neighborhoods, and most of them have been cleared, and some alleys remain within the agricultural areas. When the design capacity of the Baghdad city network reaches (22.5) mm, and it is among the duties and tasks of the secretariat’s usual work.
