Discussions on the bill on purchasing power, at the National Assembly, Monday July 18, 2022.

Rare moment of harmony in the National Assembly. It is midnight and a half, Thursday, July 21 and the deputies have just adopted the deconjugalization of the disabled adult allowance (AAH). Of the 577 deputies, 428 were present in the Hemicycle to greet a “historic moment” and the vote of a “measure of justice”. A unanimous vote celebrated with applause.

This deconjugalization had thus been brought six times by the opposition in legislative proposals during the first five-year term of Emmanuel Macron. But they had been systematically rejected by the deputies of the majority who considered this measure unfair, because benefiting without distinction to the modest people as to the most fortunate. The candidate Macron had however promised during the presidential campaign to ” to move ” about this question. In his policy statementthe Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, had taken over this measure. “My government will reform, with you, with the associations, the allowance for disabled adults”before specifying: “We will start from the principle of deconjugalization. »

Advocate of this reform under the first five-year term of Emmanuel Macron, the LR deputy for Lot, Aurélien Pradié, was delighted to “this message of dignity”: “If we are here in this Assembly, it is to defend concepts, a political ideology, but if we are here, it is also to change the lives of our fellow citizens. » “We fight hard during the campaigns, we fight hard in the Assemblies. And then, there are times when we are able to come together to allow deconjugalization ”greeted the president of the National Rally group, Marine Le Pen.
