The other Koopmann has “mixed feelings” in Zapala

The re-elected mayor of Zapala by the MPN, Carlos Koopmann, congratulated the governor-elect Rolando Figueroa and acknowledged that he had “mixed feelings” because although he won in the city, his brother Marcos lost at the provincial level. The communal chief made himself available to the new president and expressed his desire to “work together to achieve the growth and development of Zapala and the entire province.”

Carlos Koopmann obtained 13,348 votes, 56.54% of the Zapalina votes helped by the 8 lists that carried him as a candidate of the MPN. At the 91 polling stations that operated on Sunday to receive electronic voting, 77.06% of citizens over the age of 16 who could vote opted for that right.

The second in descending order was the Community candidate, Jorge Nicolas Ayala, who had 9 lists and obtained 5,345 votes, that is, 22.64%. He followed Gaston Calabró which garnered 1,456 votes, 6.17%, for the Frente de Todos Neuquino and Guillermo Sanchez with 3.55% going for Together for Change. Comply with Martin Pedemonte obtained 3.23% and the Unity Left Front with Dany Cecilia Rojas, 2.08%.

Koopmann, a few hours after confirming his victory and receiving the greetings from his opponents, said: “I want to thank all the residents of our city from the bottom of my heart for their trust in us and in this project that we have built together.”

He recognized that they achieved “a great victory at the polls and we have shown, once again, what future we want for Zapala.”

The reelected communal chief was able to reconfirm his management after the MPN was able to recover the municipality that was governed for four periods by Raúl Podestá and Soledad Martínez of the Big Front that, at that time, integrated an alliance with the Justicialista Party.
