The invitation was very appealing for a teenager. Going to hang out at the house of an older guy, 34 years old, having a drink, laughing watching videos… This is how the meetings began at the home of the Petazetaz, a duo of social media content creators with 80,000 followers between Instagram and TikTok with a lot of impact on the younger sector. At the beginning of the night, the owner of the house and his 21-year-old friend were offering joints. The guests’ consciousness was beginning to diminish. After a while they inaugurated the “chorri time” (chorri moment). This is how they knew GHB or liquid ecstasy, a drug that causes euphoria and shapes the will of those who consume it. The game consisted of consuming it to see who would “double” first.

Finally, the time came when the hosts went one step further and attempted or even managed to have sexual relations with them. The problem is that many were minors, that they had been given large quantities of narcotics and that, if they refused, they would accuse them of having consumed drugs without paying anything.

It was in mid-December when two people from the area got fed up and went to a police station in a municipality in the east of Madrid. They found it alarming that these two adults regularly invited such young teenagers to their house and organized these parties with drugs and alcohol. Investigators from the Family and Women’s Care Unit also found it disturbing that a thirty-something man was often left with minors. In this way, they began to investigate the relationships and habits of these two men and came to a video recorded by the eldest of them in which he was seen having relations with a minor. These images had circulated through instant messaging groups without the person involved having knowledge of it.

The investigative work of the agents was delicate and thorough. They interviewed dozens of acquaintances of the social media content creators to unravel what had happened in those meetings. The agents found several testimonies that told them about a live video published weeks ago in which another influencer of TikTok reported that the duo had tried to abuse her, something that gave even more credibility to the initial complaint. The investigators thus identified five minors who had been invited to the home, located in Villa de Vallecas.

All of them remembered what happened, but some were not aware of having suffered a sexual assault. Others did, but they had not reported it out of fear or shame. The first of them told them that she had gone to the house, that she had used drugs and that at a certain point she left, but she agreed to meet the boys later. Shortly after, they met in a park where the older man allegedly raped her.

They blamed other victims for having taken their drugs without paying anything and that, in return, they had to do them sexual favors. They tried it with a fifth victim, but she refused and, since there were other people in the house at that time, they did not take it any further. In most of the testimonies it is evident that the thirty-year-old was the one calling the shots, while the 21-year-old actively participated in a sexual assault.

For the universe of influencer and the tiktokers, this duo was not at the top of the most famous by any means. They spent their days without a fixed schedule, sleeping in the morning, ordering food at home at midday and uploading their videos to a shared account under the name Petazetaz. They did interviews with rather absurd content in Callao, in Madrid nightclubs and also at the home in Villa de Vallecas, in the name of the eldest of them, but where his partner spent long periods of time.

They were two more characters making supposedly humorous videos, without excessive preparation or care, but it was enough for them to have enough attractive power to take the minors to their den. “What worries us most is this way of attracting such young girls through social networks. They didn’t even have to make the effort to convince them because as they watched their humorous videos, they didn’t think anything bad could happen to them,” says one of the investigators in charge of the case. “Everything could start with a I likethey responded by giving thanks for following them and that’s how it all began,” he adds.

Not even they themselves were aware of the seriousness of having sexual relations under these conditions: with girls to whom they had given drugs, with obvious environmental intimidation because they were in one of their homes and under the supposed fascination of their fame in social networks. For them it had become so common that they had even tattooed the word “chorri”. In the house there was a blackboard on which the names of the participants in those parties and the number of times each one had used narcotics were written down. According to the investigation, investigators maintain that they were aware of the age of the girls they were taking home.

When they were arrested, another minor was in the house and they discovered that there were several video surveillance cameras in the living room. The recordings from these devices, as well as their cell phones and computers, were seized. The agents now have a huge amount of material to delve into to reconstruct everything that happened in that home and to what extent the attacks went. Investigations have evidence that these practices began in August, but they believe that there are more girls who could have fallen into their network of attraction.

Although the judge initially issued provisional detention for the eldest of them as the alleged perpetrator of two crimes of sexual assault, one of rape, exhibitionism, child pornography and five crimes against public health, a few days ago he revoked this measure and granted him freedom pending the investigations to continue. Victims continue their recovery process after having gone through such an experience. Two of the parents of those affected contacted the agents to find out what resources they could access to start treatment. One of them has the status of protected witness.
