What excites us about the horror? Why do we expose ourselves to horror films, which fears are processed and what can we learn from the character constellations of the horror classics? The “Jet Lag All Stars Radio Show” goes back to the currently vacant parts of the Viennese broadcasting center and puts it to the test. What will we encounter in the dark corridors, gutted studios and cleared editorial offices? What has the people left behind? How would film music make a dystopian place out of this abandoned building? Markus Keuschnigg, Director of the Slash Film Festival, tells us how horror films opened up a new world for him growing up in a conservative Tyrolean Alpine community. Elisabeth von Samsonow looks at the psychoanalytic moments of anxiety. Composer Paul Gallister explains how music brings horror to the screen. A scary night in the abandoned Viennese broadcasting center.
The artist and philosopher Elisabeth von Samsonow is full university professor for philosophy and historical anthropology of art at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Markus Keuschnigg has worked for radio and print and is the founder and director of the Slash Film Festival in Vienna. Paul Gallister is the producer of Wanda and co-produced Conchita Wurst’s Rise Like A Phoenix. The film composer is a lecturer at the Institute for Composition and Electroacoustics at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
