The PLF back? The government anticipates a possible use of the Passenger Locator Form!

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Belgium, like other countries, set up the PLF in order to monitor the health situation of people entering the territory. The law passed in the summer of 2021 relating to administrative police measures during an emergency epidemic situation, known as the “pandemic law”, allows the implementation of this system. This law was activated last winter, but has not been in force since the beginning of March.

The draft law approved on Friday aims to allow the introduction of a PLF, even outside of an epidemic emergency. The measures would concern travelers coming to Belgium from areas or countries where an infectious disease is rife, which affects or could seriously affect the health of the population, and against which the inhabitants of Belgium are protected thanks to its regulations.
