The name of Mario Marcel has sounded strong in the last hours and, even, it has provoked economic effects as could be seen with the price of the dollar. But nevertheless, It is not the only letter to head the Ministry of Finance, key portfolio in the future administration.
Treasury will be one of the key portfolios for the Chilean and world economic moment, and for the reforms that the Boric government seeks to implement.
The president-elect noted that the next finance minister “is going to have a relevant role, we are going to choose a person who is going to be tremendously qualified”. He added that “I don’t want to refer only to the Treasury, Why are we always so worried about Lucas?
It is noteworthy that even Boric was asked to expedite this appointment, a request that was not considered.
Possible names have been around since the triumph of the Approve Dignidad standard-bearer in the second round, but in recent days one not only surprised, but also reassured the markets. The current president of the Central Bank, Mario Marcel as a possible candidate it meant that the dollar fell to levels not seen since November 2021.

Treasury will be a portfolio with multiple challenges, which will have to face a significant desales and the effects of state aid and withdrawals of funds. In this sense, the former Minister of Finance, Ignacio Briones, mentioned that “the feeling of abundance is going to end.
