The “Epi lexi” bookstore in Athens was packed on the afternoon of Friday, April 19, at the presentation of Stathis Politis’ novel “Spira” organized by “To Doni” publications.
In a wonderful place, in the center of Athens, Vivian Efthymiopoulou, editor of the news newsletter FACT News, the director Dimitris Indares and the lawyer and journalist Antonis Papagiannidis discussed not only about “Spira”, but also about the value it has today writing a historical novel, as well as the ramifications of what takes place in the pages of the book in today’s current affairs.
The common conclusion of the presentations of the three speakers was that “Spira” is a very interesting project of a modern historical novel that creates special expectations for the next writing steps of Stathis Politis.
The discussion that followed, moderated by Andreas Tsiliras, the head of “To Doti” publications, was dominated by the leading role that Patras plays in the novel, but also by the way the author connects pivotal events of the first half of the 20th century with its power continuity and hope which are building blocks of human nature.
