The redevelopment project for the PK24-PK105 axis on national road n^o1 (RN1), whose work is 68% advanced, will be delivered next November, announced Thursday March 7, 2024, Selim Bejaoui, Director General of the Société Autoroutière du Gabon (SAG), delegated project owner of the project , during an inspection visit to the site in which Raymond Ndong Sima, Prime Minister, took part.

“The delivery of the project is before the end of the year, at the end of November 2024”said Mr. Bejaoui, subsequently reassuring the head of government of the scrupulous respect of the commitments made by the winning company Afcons on this site.

For Selim Bejaoui, the construction site in progress between Essassa and Nsilé is now experiencing an accelerated pace after a slight slowdown resulting from certain contingencies which were resolved immediately.

« The manufacturer Afcons had difficulties in 2023, but thanks to joint efforts between the Gabonese authorities and SAG which acts as delegated project owner on this project, we managed to implement solutions to help Afcons to to overcome these difficulties and to be able to begin this current phase of acceleration despite the rains”he stressed.

Days and nights, the technicians and other workers of the Indian company are hard at work to meet deadlines. Already from next May, traffic will be fluid on the Essassa (PK24)-Ntoum (PK40) part, which is riddled with diversions due to the construction of engineering structures whose work is being completed.

“This entire project gives us satisfaction”declared Mr. Ndong Sima, accompanied during this visit by Flavien Nzengui Nzoundou and Hermann Immongault, respectively Ministers of Public Works and the Interior.
