Russian Nassurdin Imavov, representing France, lost to American Sean Strickland. The fight in the middle weight category ended with the final score – 49:46, 49:46 and 48:47 in favor of Strickland
The duel of the fighters headlined the first UFC event in 2023, which took place on the night of January 14-15 at the UFC Apex arena in Las Vegas.
For 27-year-old Imavov, this defeat was the fourth with 13 victories. At the moment, the Russian takes 12th place in the ranking of middleweight fighters of the promotion. For the 31-year-old Strickland, that’s 26 wins and 6 losses.
Imavov’s last fight took place on September 3 and ended with the victory of the Russian by unanimous decision over the American fighter Joaquin Buckley.
Strickland’s previous fight took place on 18 December. The meeting with Jared Cannonier turned out to be a defeat for him.
