The Sevillian artist Isla exhibits her ‘Paintings of the Cosmos’ in Ubrique

The History Interpretation Center of Ubrique San Juan de Letrán hosts the exhibition during this month of April ‘Paintings of the Cosmos’, by the young Sevillian artist Isla, which presents his latest works made with mixed technique and on different supports, focused on his dream world of fantasy and beings that bring other inner realities closer.

“The artist has always explored the mind and the subconscious through her work with digital media, but in recent years she has managed to bring them to physical life using acrylic. “She paints women through the approximation with her internal sensitivity, but in reality for the artist they are only representations of human consciousness,” she details in her presentation sheet for this exhibition, whose curator is Esther Recio, director of Event Heart.

Thus it is explained that this exhibition challenges “the reality of the mundane and the everyday, opening a door to the question of what may be, not only beyond, but further inside. The reality of what we perceive may be more complex than what appears to us on the surface.”

The opening of this exhibition was attended by, among others, the artist from Prado del Rey, Jose Hinojo and the journalist and writer, Jesus Benitezwho highlighted the uniqueness of Isla’s work.

In fact, Jesús Benítez gives insights into the work of this young artist, saying that “her journey will surely travel through our own ‘cosmos’ and for the better, leaving works beyond the spectral. In his work there are traces emulating James Cameron, which go beyond the Avatar. Isla brings her own personality, she drinks in diverse worlds, with materials that come from the computer that is in her brain and her overflowing imagination. She gravitates towards humble materials such as cardboard or printing paper. And so she arrives, she shares, she transmits with hyper-realistic force and intriguing glances, which analyze you from all angles.”
