A Russian flag slumped behind a tinted window: it is the last symbol of what was the heart of the oil power of the Kremlin in Geneva. Above a Louis Vuitton store, the building at No 2, place du Lac, has long housed the Geneva offices of Rosneft, the leading producer of Russian crude. Its boss, Igor Setchin, Vladimir Putin’s right-hand man, sometimes took up residence on the terrace, in a glass office overlooking the harbour.
