The Spanish group Megara won this Saturday night in the contest A voice for San Marino and will thus represent this republic located in Italian territory in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. The Madrid rock band – led by its singer Kenzy and formed by Rober, guitarist; Vitti, bassist and Ra Tache, drummer― presented their song 11:11 and beat important representatives of Italian song such as Loredana Bertè, who came second with the song Crazywith which she had placed ninth at this year’s San Remo Festival.

The group – which is defined by a gothic style with touches of pink, with a rock musical style that plays with electronics – had been presented in 2023 at the Benidorm Fest, the contest in which Spain’s representative for Eurovision is chosen. Megara began their musical career in 2015, when they released their first LP, Die who can. Now they have three albums behind them and participation in music festivals such as the Resurrection Fest or the Download Festival.

San Marino will participate in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2024 in Malmö (Sweden), which is scheduled for Thursday, May 9, along with 15 other nations. Of them, 10 will pass, who will enter the final on Saturday, May 11 along with the 10 classified from the first semifinal and the 6 that are already in the final by right: Sweden as host country and the “big five” Italy, France , Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain.
