the technical sheet would be very similar to the previous generation

While we could have expected several changes for the next Galaxy S23, it seems that the new generation of high-end smartphones from Samsung is nothing revolutionary.

A few days after we learned that the Galaxy S23 Ultra would not be the expected revolution, it seems that the same is true for the Galaxy S23 and S23+. Indeed, according to leaker Ice Universe, the two smartphones will inherit a large part of the technical characteristics of the current Galaxy S22 and S22+.

The new generation will probably use the same screens, the same photo sensors and the same batteries. Only one major change would be planned for the Galaxy S23 and S23+: their processor.

The Galaxy S23 will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

The only significant change in the next smartphones from Samsung would be at the level of the on-board chip. This year, we know that the Galaxy S23 will finally ditch Samsung’s Exynos SoCs for a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that Qualcomm will present in mid-November. Its arrival could well allow the Korean manufacturer’s devices to be not only much more powerful than the current generation, but above all more autonomous.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be manufactured by TSMC in 4nmand should therefore put thefocus on energy efficiency. Like the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the chips are also expected to have better heat control, and so they are less prone to overheating.

For its part, the Galaxy S23 Ultra should also take up a good part of the technical sheet of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but we know that the smartphone will be entitled to a new main sensor of 200 MP. Ice Universe also revealed that the frame of the smartphone should be slightly wider on this new generationwhich means that the curved part of the screen will be reduced. So this is great news for users who prefer flat screens.

Despite this change, it is expected that the dimensions will remain almost identical. The Galaxy S22 Ultra measured 163.3 x 77.9 x 8.9 mm, and the leaker has already indicated that the new generation will measure 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9 mm.
