Due to the renewable strike against the pension reform, train traffic remains very disrupted this Thursday. Trains, TGV, TER, planes… As part of the mobilization against the reform, the transport sector sets the pace and builds a lasting protest.
In transport, the strike against the pension reform continues. The SNCF plans two out of five TERs and one out of three TGVs this Thursday. On the rails of the RATP, the disturbances are concentrated in the metro. On the air side, a third of flights are canceled at the airports of Orly, Roissy, Lyon and Marseille.
Mobilization over time
As often, the railway workers are on the front line. At the SNCF, the disturbances will remain significant this Thursday and Friday ahead of the demonstration on Saturday. The movement should continue until the middle of next week. According to Julien Troccaz, federal secretary of the Sud-Rail union, the mobilization of 2023 is more diverse than in 2019: “What is really important is that every day, other sectors join us in the renewable” .
“Comparing with December 5, 2019, there are more sectors that joined the strike on the starting line. In the air, disruptions were planned only for Tuesday and Wednesday and finally they take place until the end of the week. The waste sector is also concerned. Urban networks, such as Saint-Nazaire, are also mobilized”, he continues.
The mobilizations are also local with particular attention to the sub-prefectures. The disturbances last but not everywhere. At the RATP, traffic is clearly improving. The agents no longer seem to want to be at the forefront, scalded after 47 days of conflict between December 2009 and February 2020.
