Tijuana, Baja California (TorosDeTijuana.com-Armando Esquivel).- Toros de Tijuana could not recover from a four-run attack in the second inning and fell 5-2 to Algodoneros de Unión Laguna, starting the series before more than twelve thousand people gathered in the friendly confines of Chevron Stadium.
Efrén Navarro homered but it was too late and the border team left its record at 14-11 in second place in the North Zone.
The defending champion was the first to alter the board by scoring from the first inning on the irons of Nick Williams, who with a double got into traffic and took advantage of Leandro Castro’s single to go through the register.
The visit turned the scoreboard and took advantage by opening the second set and Adrián Tovalín from Tijuana did it with power and his rude two-run homer to left field and then Edgar Robles produced the third run in a “suicide touch” play and later Ariel Campoy scored on an error by Isaac Rodríguez in a double steal that the Laguneros applied.
Still in the ninth inning, the “laguneros” widened their margin a little more and it was with another touch of the ball that Adrián Tovalín scored the 5-1.
The last line on the strip was from the Toros de Tijuana with the second home run of the season by Efrén Navarro, who hit it to the opposite band above the left meadow fence.
During the fourth inning, Leandro Castro was inches away from matching the scoreboards, but the center fielder stole a three-run homer from him with a flashy defensive play over the wall.

Kyle Lobstein was called to start the first of the series and his performance was fleeting, reporting only two innings of four runs, four hits, three walks and four chocolates. The left-hander took the loss and left his record at 1-1.
Carlos Hernández relieved for three chapters, Anthony Herrera and Jorge Pérez with a career in two chapters of work.
