Elaf: In a country where nothing remained steadfast except for education and culture, and with its great and valuable stances, the spirit of humanity, and sympathy for an entire generation, which suffers from successive crises and can no longer afford even a little part of its education in Lebanon’s private universities, Mrs. Magda El Roumi appeared, after an absence from concerts, from Notre Dame University. NDU in a huge party that included 1700 people, the proceeds of which will be returned to support university students in order to secure tuition fees to complete their education in these difficult economic conditions, under the slogan: “For Lebanon and the future of its youth”.

These eager students for education are proud of a lady who raised her voice loudly for the sake of their educational future, calling on all artists to be an example of the link between citizens instead of the severing of ties caused by politicians, as she promised the graduates that she would not shed a tear anymore, like those who have no hope, and she said that the students are the ones who hymn Lebanon’s greatness and goodness.

Elaf’s camera was present at the ceremony, and we had an exclusive, private interview with Mrs. Majida Al-Roumi behind the scenes before the start of the ceremony, in which she noted the importance of the ceremony’s slogan, and addressed through Elaf a word from the heart to the youth of Lebanon. She also revealed to us her new song, written by the great Nizar Qabbani, which will be released on the painful 4th of August!
We also had quick chats with the curators of Notre Dame University NDU, former minister Ziad Baroud, writer and actress Claudia Marshallian, writer and actress Karen Rizkallah, media figure Rima Njeim, and Lebanese fashion designer Raja Saadeh, who signed Majida’s elegant look.

On the performance of the choir of Our Lady of Louaize, the patriotic song “Lebanon Remains”, Majida, in her long, elegant red dress, took the stage, and began shouting with her essential voice to put joy, joy, love and hope in the heart of Lebanon’s youth. To the Lebanese officials, who brought the country to what it is today and who are implicated in the blood and tears of the people, saying: “A person cannot be a human being except through love, but it is difficult to speak of love when we are talking about our relationship with officials, specifically and in particular those involved in our blood and tears, while they are hearing screams.” We were hurt and you see what a disaster we are, and we are not asked.” She talked about the reality of the Lebanese and the youth, and the people’s suffering from everything.

After that, she ignited the enthusiasm of the audience with a group of her songs, which are “Passed in my imagination”, “Mogher and confusing me”, “People ask me about you”, “Listen to my heart”, “Take me my love here”, “Laylat Layl”, “Do not be angry”, “Treasures of the world”, “Mili, oh sweet, oh branch of mind”, then she lit the stage with a song beloved to everyone’s hearts, which is “Beirut, Sitt al-Dunya”, after which she addressed the audience, saying, “Lebanon belongs to us … with our steadfastness and solidarity, and with love, Lebanon is the savior of Lebanon and the breaker of evil … we are witnesses to Lebanon’s sovereignty and freedom And the independence of each one of us is Lebanon.”
And she continued with the songs “On my heart is a king”, “How beautiful it would be if we remained friends”, “I don’t care about your place in my heart”, “I love you very much”, and the conclusion was with her immortal song “Kalimat”. It was an exceptional party and a lifetime night in which feelings of love, hope, joy, hope, humanity and patriotism mixed together…and the beautiful Lebanon we longed for!
