The Viedma and Patagones Region is affected this Tuesday by strong winds from the southwest sector, with gusts reaching 70 kilometers per hour.

The conditions would be maintained during the afternoon, although the intensity of the wind would begin to decrease from 3:00 p.m., with speeds of 30 km/h. and a calmer night is announced.

The National Weather Service (SMN) issued a yellow alert for the presence of wind for the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén. The areas will be affected by gusts that can reach 90 km/h.

According to the organism, the zones of Conesa, Adolfo Alsina Plateau, San Antonio Plateau and Valcheta: In the morning the area will be affected by winds from the west sector, with speeds between 50 and 70 km/h and gusts that can reach 90 km/h.

The rural area of ​​General Conesa was affected this morning by a general cut in electrical service product of different breaks in medium voltage installations generated by the wind storm.

The gusts reached 100 kilometers per hour, causing fall of poplars and different plants on one of the two trunk feeders that supply that locality, both in urban and rural areas.

The company Edersa reported that “one of the medium voltage lines was affected and, for this reason, the rural sector -both towards El Valle and towards Viedma- was left out of service”In addition, “there was a power cut in some neighborhoods of the city” but “the entire supply” was recovered.

“We are preparing everything to start the repairs and have service in the rural area again, but We hope that the wind calms down a bit, because it is very dangerous to work in these conditions for our operators”indicated a source of the company.
