Besides, you have to believe that the TGV excites. In 2015, a man posed as XDDL. The sixty-year-old threatened to kill his granddaughter. The suspect was finally arrested in a train: He had neither a weapon nor a granddaughter. The bad prankster was a regular at making prank calls to the police.

Today, we are trying to make progress by referring to another notorious criminal. Is Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès just a simple copycat? The quintuple murder of his family has many similarities with an American case. In 1971, the year in which Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès was in the United States, a news item hit the headlines. John Emil List, a devout Protestant, murdered his family members and subsequently vanished to live a new life. The American killed his wife and mother at their home in New Jersey. He waits for two of his children – 16 and 13 years old – to come home from school to kill them in turn.
After enjoying a meal, he goes to his 15-year-old son John’s soccer game and murders him when they get home. He will leave the premises the next day. The man had planned everything, he cut out his face in all the family photos, informed his children’s school of a move… The bodies were found a month later. Except that unlike XDDL at this point, it was finally able to be stopped. But only 18 years later, in 1989, and by the FBI, under a new identity: Robert Clark, married, living in Virginia. At his trial, he ended up giving the explanation: he didn’t dare tell them that he had lost his job.
