In the eastern part of the country, starting Wednesday night and from the south, showers and thunder are expected in places, hail and strong gusts of wind are also possible. Showers will change to heavy snow on Wednesday.
There will be less precipitation in the western and central regions of Latvia. The northwest wind will increase in gusts of up to 10-15 meters per second, gusts of up to 20 meters per second are expected on the coast, and a snowstorm is also expected.
Part of the country will be temporarily covered with snow, and roads will be slippery.
The air temperature on Wednesday afternoon will be -1..+4 degrees, on Thursday morning frosts of several degrees are expected throughout almost the entire country, and the maximum temperature on Thursday will be 0..+7 degrees. No significant precipitation is expected on Thursday; the wind will calm down.
More snow and rain clouds are expected to move across the country from the west on Friday, but it will become warmer at the end of the week – temperatures could reach 20 degrees on Sunday.
