The construction of a new via ferrata will start this week in Písek. It will be created thanks to a participatory budget on the Wenceslas Rocks. People must therefore expect limited access on the path that leads from the swimming pool along the river and on the rock below Wenceslas.
“After an expert assessment of the condition of the trees that are found in close proximity to the rock massif, in the following days, a specialist company will carry out medical, reduction and stabilization cuts of selected trees in cooperation with the municipal company Lesy města Písku. The rock face, where the secured path will lead, as well as the starting point and the top part of the via ferrata, will be cleaned of unwanted bush communities and invasive trees. stated in a press release Jan Venclík from the investment and development department.
Mining will take place on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. That’s why people don’t get on the footpath. From Friday 23 to Sunday 25 February, entry will be prohibited, always from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“The section in which the passage will be restricted will be visibly marked, and the contractor’s patrol will be present in the work area to guard the area. We therefore ask the public to respect the markings and instructions of the contractor at the specified time,” the city spokeswoman said Petra Měšťanová.
In March, the removal of loose and loose stones is on the agenda. “The modification of the rock surface will not be easy, removing unwanted trees, cleaning the rock and removing stones will take many weeks. The area under the rock massif during the ongoing works will therefore be marked, and traffic for pedestrians and cyclists will be restricted in this section.” added Jan Venclík.
