The star of Tash Matash, the Saudi artist, Youssef Al-Jarrah, retired from the acting profession in 2018, where his last work was the series Haret Al-Sheikh.

Youssef Al-Jarrah revealed, during his hosting of the “That Sami Al-Jaber” program, the reasons for his retirement, which were numerous. He made it clear that he had had enough of the world of acting and felt that there was nothing more to offer.

He also indicated that he was attracted to the world of presenting programs, while the last reason is due to the quality of writing, whether comic or otherwise.

When asked if the writing improved and there were better scenarios, Will he change his decision to retire, so that Youssef Al-Jarrah answered him: “No, returning to the series, what I think about is sincere. As for theater, I have no problem.. I do not say that there is a shortage of books, praise be to God. Our country has talents, thinkers and innovators, but when the comic text comes and you feel what It suits the dimension and what suits you, and you receive the role that suits you, but the plot does not.”

It is worth noting that Al-Jarrah began his artistic career in the theater, then moved to television work, and his first appearance was in the series “Tomorrow is Another Day” with Abdul Rahman Al Rashi and Bashir Al-Ghunaim in 1984, after which he participated in the comedy drama series “La Hawhosh Habrouk” with Abdullah Al-Sadhan and Saad Khader.

He worked with Nasser Al-Qasabi in the series “Wadi Al-Ghazlan” in the early nineties, then continued their cooperation with the artist Abdullah Al-Sadhan in comedies, including: “Short Tales” and “Abu Mishaab”, and participated in most parts of the comedy series “Tash Ma Tash”.
